Tata Punch EV launched with 421 km range, smart features and stylish SUV design at ₹10,00,000

The Tata Punch EV has arrived with a fresh energy. It blends the bold SUV look with a smart, clean electric heart. It runs on Tata’s new acti.ev architecture. The look, feel, and features lift it ahead of its class. It feels modern, yet familiar. Its electric nature gives a smooth, quiet drive. It feels like India’s next EV, ready for now and what comes next.

Tata Punch EV Price in India

Tata has priced the Punch EV to make it an affordable electric SUV. The starting price is around 9.99 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to about 14.49 lakh for the top trim. The higher trims include features like fast charging, advanced displays, and comfort upgrades. This price bracket makes it accessible to many first-time EV buyers.

The wide price range also helps buyers choose according to their budget. A person looking for an everyday city car can go for the lower trims, while those wanting a feature-rich SUV experience can pick the higher trims. With rising petrol costs, the Punch EV makes sense as a future-ready and cost-efficient option.

Tata Punch EV Range and Battery

The Punch EV is available with two battery pack options. The Medium Range model uses a 25 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified range of about 315 kilometers. The Long Range model comes with a 35 kWh battery and delivers up to 421 kilometers of certified range. This flexibility lets buyers choose according to their driving needs.

For city users, the Medium Range pack is more than enough. For those who like weekend getaways or longer daily commutes, the Long Range version feels more practical. Tata’s new acti.ev platform makes both versions efficient and capable of handling Indian road conditions.

Tata Punch EV Charging Time and Options

The Punch EV can be charged at home or at public stations. With a standard 15 amp plug point, the Medium Range battery takes about 9 hours to charge, while the Long Range version takes around 13.5 hours. For most households, this overnight charging system works well.

For faster charging, Tata offers a 7.2 kW AC wallbox charger. This cuts the time down to 3.6 hours for the Medium Range and about 5 hours for the Long Range. On road trips, a 50 kW DC fast charger can charge the car from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than an hour. This makes it easy to plan both daily use and long journeys.

Tata Punch EV Features and Technology

Tata has equipped the Punch EV with a rich list of features. It offers a twin 10.25-inch display setup, one for infotainment and the other for the driver’s information. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay make smartphone connectivity smooth. Top trims also get a 360-degree camera and wireless charging.

For comfort, Tata has added ventilated seats, automatic climate control, and an air purifier. Safety and entertainment are not compromised either, with multiple airbags and a premium sound system included. The mix of modern tech and comfort makes the Punch EV feel premium in its category.

Tata Punch EV Design and Interiors

The Punch EV retains the muscular SUV stance of its petrol sibling. It has a closed-off front grille, a LED light bar, and split headlamp design, which give it a futuristic look. The alloy wheels and EV-specific styling cues make it stand out from the regular Punch.

Inside, the cabin feels spacious and practical. It has a 366-litre boot, along with useful storage spaces including a front trunk or “frunk.” The interior uses dual-tone colors and good quality materials. Passengers get a sense of ruggedness along with refinement, making it suitable for both city and family use.

Tata Punch EV Safety Features

Tata has given strong attention to safety in the Punch EV. It comes with up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and hill-hold control. These features provide peace of mind for daily use and highway travel.

The Punch EV has also been tested under Bharat NCAP and received a five-star rating for both adult and child safety. This makes it one of the safest compact EVs on Indian roads. Buyers looking for safety along with affordability find this an appealing combination.

Tata Punch EV Performance on Indian Roads

Performance is one of the highlights of the Punch EV. The Medium Range model delivers 60 kW power, equal to about 82 PS, and 114 Nm torque. The Long Range model delivers 90 kW power, around 122 PS, and 190 Nm torque. This makes acceleration quick and responsive.

The Long Range version can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just under 10 seconds. In city traffic, the instant torque makes driving effortless. On highways, the suspension and stability tuning provide a confident and smooth experience. The Punch EV feels well balanced for both short commutes and long drives.

Tata Punch EV Variants and Colors

Tata offers the Punch EV in multiple trims such as Smart, Adventure, and Empowered. Each variant has its own set of features and charging options, including 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW chargers. Buyers can choose depending on their needs and budget.

Color options include lively shades like Supernova Copper, Daytona Grey, and Tropical Mist. The variety of trims and colors makes the Punch EV attractive to a wide range of customers, from young urban drivers to small families.

Tata Punch EV Booking and Availability

The Tata Punch EV was officially launched in January 2024. Bookings opened soon after through Tata’s official website and dealerships across India. Customers can also test drive the car at Tata showrooms before making a decision.
